About

ANT!FOTO is a project organized and curated by Katja Stuke and Oliver Sieber. ANT!FOTO started in 2010 »» with a group exhibition and several talks and lectures. at »Kunstraum« in Düsseldorf. Since then several exhibitions where shown, a Manifesto »» was written, various magazines »» where published and the ANT!FOTO Bar was established. There where even several virtual »» events during 2020 and 2021.

Katja Stuke and Oliver Sieber also curated the mail exhibitions of the »Photoszene« Festival in Cologne in 2016 »» and together with Sabine Maria Schmidt »Geheime Agenten« at the Künstlerverein Malkasten in Düsseldorf.

ANT!FOTO emerged from the motivation to show the various facets of the medium of photography.
The ANT!FOTO Bar continued to ideas of the exhibition and event series ANT!FOTO and understand itself as a place of exchange and discourse on the various »aggregate states« of photography, with a focus on the photo book, as a meeting place for various photography actors – along the lines of small Japanese theme bars.

Since 2021, there has been the Mobile ANT!FOTO Bar – a transportable venue that can be installed for individual evenings in different places on different themes – with an always differently curated selection of photobooks from Stuke & Sieber’s own library to discuss.

The mobile ANT!FOTO Bar premiered at the Kunstverein Bielefeld and was already invited to Sprengel Museum Hannover (Scope Festival), Filmwerkstatt Düsseldorf, Forum Freies Theater (FFT) Düsseldorf, K21 Düsseldorf (Strike a Pose), Museum Ostwall im Dortmunder U (Mikro Buch Festival) and Internationale Photoszene Köln.

There where pop-up Bars at Sassori Bar Paris and the Tokyo Express Bar of The Photobookmuseum Cologne.

From 2023 Katja Stuke and Oliver Sieber organize a program »Photography in Books« in cooperation with the Düsseldorf City Library (Stadtbibliothek Düsseldorf). »»
